Detailed description of project
|
The Government of Bulgaria is under time pressure to modernize the local taxation system. For amending the laws and to improve the tax administration, the draft legislation has to be presented to the Parliament before the local election. The study tour aimed to summarise the specific technical issues of local taxation and to formulate recommendations for tax policy design. |
Type of services provided

Study tour on “Municipal Taxing Power” was implemented in Hungary for 13 Bulgarian participants, representing the Ministry of Finance, the association of local governments (NAMBR) and the USAID/LGI programme. Mayors and members of parliament also took part in the programme. |
